Would have the kindness to Look into my case of distress That 35 I have 2 motherless Children been left with them 3 years and 8 months through this panic and Bad Trade it as thrown me out of Employment Sir I was compeld To Appeal to the parish of Bull^well^ in the county of Nottinghamshire thoug^h^ I belong the parish of Linby in the Said County aforesaid Honoured Sir The put me to work gathering stones I had to go 5 miles to work the same Distance Back The give me so much Per day they would not tell me until Saturday Then Sir they gave me 7d per ton Sir to go 10 miles per day give a poor man 7d per ton trusting to rainy days Another thing Being a weekly man my wages would be about 3s 6d per week Then Sir I have to pay out of that 2s 0d per week for Lodgeing And with that I Remain In Starvation me and my Children Sir I am 33 years of age the oldest Child 9 9 years the youngest 7 years Sir a poor man is Tossed about worse than any dog God help the poor man Bulwell Samuel Marriott
