The Prince’s clothes

The waistcoat belonged to Prince Charles Edward Stuart and was left at Fassifern House on the march from Glenfinnan in 1745. The tartan trews are believed to have belonged to the Prince but worn as costume. Traditional trews were not trousers, but long hose which were worn high up to the waist.
