5a How many hours a week did a Land Girl work in the winter? In the summer?
5b Women aged 18 or over, working on the land, were guaranteed a weekly wage of at least 45 shillings in 1943. At this time, a man doing skilled work in a factory earned three times that amount. Why was there such a large difference in wages? Did men work better or harder than women? Was this a fair difference?
