To the Natives of Australia the Committee will very briefly allude, in order to give expression to their earnest desire for their adoption and success of the just and important measure proposed by Lord Stanley by which in analogy to the provision already made, with regard to the purchase money paid by the Colonists for occupied land - 15 percent of the rent rescued to the Crown, was intended to be set apart for the benefit of the Aborigines, and devoted to efficient means for their protection and advancement. |
