WE, the undersigned, being residents of Kingston Vale and Kingston Hill, beg to draw your attention to the serious danger to life and limb arising from the furious driving of motor Vehicles on the main Portsmouth Road, which runds through this district. Several deaths have already been caused by so-called accidents due to Motor traffic. Crossing the road is attended by constant danger both by day and by night from the excessive speed of the great majority of the numerous cars passing through. We are of opinion that the only effective check on the dangerous driving would be the presence of a Police Constable on point duty, and we earnestly hope that on investigation you will be able to concur in this view and accordingly cause a Policeman to be stationed in the village of Kingston Vale.
