  COPY 1/420 part 2, picture of whipping-frame. This is the whipping-frame at Wormwood Scrubs Prison, photographed in 1895. a prisoner to be whipped was strapped to the frame. "Cat o' nine tails" whips can be seen hanging up on the left. Punishing prisoners by whipping was not abolished until 1948.
  Look closely at the pictures, Sources 2, 3, 4, 5, 8 and 9. Make sure you understand what you are seeing and why it is that way.
