Annotation
Two New Designs in Class IV, Limoge Centre Piece.

Notes
By calling this range of shapes 'Limoge' Wedgwood was referring to Limoges enamelled ware, which were highly prized in the 1860s. The imitation of Limoges enamel ware was part of the Renaissance Revival [revival of art and letters, under the influence of classical models] This item is a comport or tazza [a shallow bowl on a foot] which would echo the form of the enamel original.
