Necklet. Lindsey Smedley, Jeweller, Matlock Bath, Derbyshire. This necklet is formed or made of Spar, Jet[?] Etc in Beads threaded together and fastened at the back of neck by means of a snap.

Notes
A note on the design suggests that the beads will be of 'spar, jet etc'. Spar is a crystalline rock mined in Derbyshire. Jet is fossilised wood, which, when polished, produces a black glass like finish very popular in the 19th century for costume jewellery.
