The role of intelligence

The 'Ultra' intelligence source was one of the most valuable Allied assets for much of the war. They regularly read the Germans' secret communications by breaking their Enigma cipher, thus revealing a great deal of information about their forces. This report is part of a series seen by the Prime Minister.
