There is an exciting opportunity for four people to join the Archives Unlocked steering group and we would like to invite expressions of interest from anyone who would like to take on this role. Archives Unlocked is the Government’s vision for the archives sector, published in 2017 and due to be reviewed in 2024. We are seeking people with specialist knowledge and from a range of archives, such as charity, business, university and local authority. We are particularly keen to ensure representation from diverse communities on the steering group.
There are numerous benefits to joining the steering group, including influencing developments within the sector, building your experience of strategic initiatives and collaborating with a wider range of fellow professionals.
Your involvement on the steering group also doesn’t require a lot of time. The steering group meets 3 times per year, mainly online, and we normally meet in person once a year. Meetings last 90 minutes to 2 hours. Members can claim expenses in line with The National Archives’ expenses policy and independent members can claim an attendance payment (currently £100 per meeting) when they are attending in their own time.
For an informal discussion about the steering group, please contact email@example.com. To submit your expression of interest, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org by Friday 16 February 2024 with a brief summary of your current role and why you are interested in joining the steering group. Informal interviews will take place later in February.
