Newly accredited archive services announced
The UK Archive Service Accreditation Committee is pleased to announce that the following archive services were awarded Archive Service Accreditation for the first time at the latest panel meeting that took place on 4 March 2020:
- London South Bank University Archives
- Magdalen College School Archive
- National Museums Liverpool: Maritime Archives and Library
- Oldham Local Studies and Archives
- University of Brighton Design Archives
By attaining accreditation, these archive services have successfully demonstrated that they meet the UK standard around resourcing, collections management and provision of access to collections.
At the same panel meeting, the following archive services were awarded Archive Service Accreditation for the second time:
- Cumbria Archive Service
- Exeter Cathedral Library and Archives
- Worcestershire Archive and Archaeology Service
By retaining accreditation for a further period of up to six years, the archive services have shown that they have continued to meet the standard through effective planning, risk management and delivery of change.
Accredited archive services across the UK include business archives, specialist repositories, university archives, and local authority archive services.
Archive Service Accreditation is supported by a partnership of the Archives and Records Association (UK), Archives and Records Council Wales, National Records of Scotland, Public Record Office of Northern Ireland, Scottish Council on Archives, The National Archives, and the Welsh Government through its Museums, Archives and Libraries Wales division.
