Funds awarded for innovative ideas
Today we announce the first eight recipients of grants awarded from our new Archives Testbed Fund to promote innovation.
Grants of up to £5,000 will enable the successful applicants to test and explore an innovative idea that could improve the way we preserve, promote and enable access to archives.
The Archives Testbed Fund is part of the Collaborate and Innovate programme and encourages archive services to experiment without fear of failure. The learning outcomes of projects supported by the fund will then be shared with the wider archives sector.
The recipients of the first round of the Archives Testbed Fund are:
- Greater Manchester County Records Office
- Special Collections & Archives, Templeman Library, University of Kent
- West Yorkshire Archive Service
- Staffordshire Archives & Heritage
- Mountain Heritage Trust
- Tyne and Wear Archives
- Hackney Archives
- The National Gallery Research Centre
The Archive Testbed Fund has an additional £60,000 available for projects focused on digital engagement supported by our Plugged In, Powered Up strategy. The deadline for round two submissions is Monday 13 January 2020.
Contact our Collaborate and Innovate team for more information or to discuss your potential project ideas.
