Beyond 2022: Ireland’s Virtual Record Treasury (Phase II) – Funded by the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media of the Government of Ireland, through Trinity College Dublin.

Prize Papers: Cataloguing – Digitisation – Presentation – Funded by the German state and the federal state of Lower Saxony, through The Academies Programme of the Union of the German Academies of Sciences and Humanities and the Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg.

Beyond 2022: Ireland’s Virtual Record Treasury (Phase II) – £88,216.50 GBP total

Prize Papers: Cataloguing – Digitisation – Presentation – €50,000 EUR per annum for a total of twelve years

3. The aim of each project

Beyond 2022: Ireland’s Virtual Record Treasury (Phase II) – To create a virtual reconstruction of the Public Record Office of Ireland, which was destroyed in the opening engagement of the Irish Civil War in 2022.
Specifically at The National Archives, to uncover previously unknown (or little known) Irish material from across the breadth of TNA’s archive; and to produce a full digital edition of the records submitted for audit at Westminster by the treasurers of the Dublin Exchequer, alongside associated research work.

Prize Papers: Cataloguing – Digitisation – Presentation – The complete digitisation and sorting of the Prize Papers including the preservation of the collection’s material, the initial and in-depth cataloguing, the creation of research-oriented metadata and finally the presentation of the digital copies and the metadata in an open access research database.
Specifically at The National Archives, sorting, basic cataloguing, preparation for digitisation, storage of master images and metadata creation connected to the relevant record series (HCA 30, 32, 65 and parts of HCA 42 and 49).
