The National Archives collaborates with Academic and Genealogy publishers in the dissemination of government records, often in the form of digitised, curated, online collections. Our agreements require any digital publications of records normally viewable in our reading rooms also be made available free of charge via our Discovery platform to on site reading room visitors.
To establish whether records you have found in Discovery are available in online-published collections, click on ‘More ways to view this record’ at the bottom of the green box on the right-hand side of the record page. If records are available to download (in this instance through academic subscriptions from Adam Matthew), that will be revealed. This also applies to genealogical records.
These collections are not available to view free of charge outside of The National Archives reading room. If you wish to subscribe to our partners publications through your institution, please use the contact details provided on our partner’s product pages, or use the links below.
