Born in Cheltenham, 1867. Served with 4th Battalion, 1885-1887. Served with 1st Battalion in East Indies, 1887-1901. Served as Adjutant and later Second in Command of the Canadian Scouts, and as Adjutant of a Volunteer Battalion of the South Wales Borderers during the South African War, 1902. Returned to 1st Battalion, 1903. Commanded 1st Battalion, 1911-1915. Appointed to command 82nd Infantry Brigade, Jan 1915. Commanded 10th Irish Division, Dec 1915-1917. Commanded 44th (Home Counties) Division, 1919-1923. Retired, 1923. Served as Colonel of the Regiment, 1920-1939. Died, 1953.
