Born at Tulse Hill Park, 1894. Enlisted, 1914. Served with 2nd Battalion during World War I. Awarded Victoria Cross, 1915. Discharged, 1919. Became a Master at Copthorne School, 1919. Recalled to active service, c.1919. Served with Sudan civil service in the Education Department, 1919-1924. Transferred to the Political Department and appointed a District Judge, 1924, and later a Provincial Judge, 1932, Judge of the High Court, 1935, and Judge-Advocate General of the Sudan Defence Force, 1942. Retired, 1944. Died, 1961.
