    National security 2006

In August 2006, a year after the London bombings,  it was announced that a major counter-terrorist operation had taken place to disrupt an alleged plot to bring down several aircraft through mid flight explosions.  This resulted in the UK terror threat state being raised to 'Critical' - its highest level.  This collection of websites shows the information provided by the UK Government in the wake of the operation, including major changes in aviation security measures.
