"Sugar plantation" by Nunney, Date unknown

Catalogue ref: INF 3/366Links to the Catalogue

A Colonial food production poster depicting a sugar plantation, with workers. Space is provided at the base of the image for over-printing a slogan.

The image is in a colourful (West Indian) style typical of that of earlier Empire Marketing Board (EMB) posters. The EMB existed from 1926 to 1939 to promote trade with the Colonies and the Dominions and encourage British people to buy Empire goods.
