"Five male profiles" by Reginald Mount, Post-1941
Catalogue ref: INF 3/333
A softly coloured inter-allied/unity of strength poster, depicting five male profiles, aligned, reducing with distance. Space is given for over-printing of an associated message. The artist notes that the yellow tone is not intentional, but due to the discolouration of the paper (of which there was a shortage during the war).
Although no specific reference is made to the Soviet Union, this image is injected with more than a dash of heroic soviet realism, at a time when Russian soldiers and citizens were constantly held up as embodiments of various wartime virtues.
