Catalogue ref: INF 3/1313
A cartoon image depicting Hitler, holding back his armed forces, offering a (helmeted) dove of peace to politicians, who inspect the dove carefully. The cartoon appears to be a reflection on the arguments against Neville Chamberlain's appeasement, when politicians appeared to be convinced by Hitler's argument: ‘I am insulted by the persistent assertion that I want war. Am I a fool? It would only worsen the state of the world.'
