Former Government Minister Anthony Nutting has neglected to tell the government until very late in the day that he is writing a book about the Suez crisis. The Prime Minister, Harold Wilson, seeks advice on the page proofs.

Contains copies and translations of papers between the British Government and the Holy See during the Second World War. Also includes a later controversy in 1967 about the unfavourable portrayal of the British Government's role in not relieving the wartime famine in Greece.
