Advice & guidance

We produce standards and guidance on all aspects of records management. These represent best practice and focus on public record bodies. Organisations not subject to the Public Records Act may also find these standards and guidance useful. For specific guidance on electronic records go to the Electronic records section of the website.

This guidance remains under review to ensure that it continues to be relevant and in accordance with best practice. The latest version will always be published here.

If you require further assistance in interpreting these documents or wish to comment on them, contact us on records.management@nationalarchives.gov.ukEmail link.
