Sharing research results

Transcript
There are lots of people just like you carrying out research.
If you share your results with others, you may get useful information in return.
There are lots of online newsgroups and communities with common research interests in places, people and specific periods in history.
Some online communities use Wikis to share information. As people add information over time, these sites grow into valuable research sources.
The National Archives has its own wiki called 'Your Archives'. People add information about our records, often in great detail.
You can search and contribute to 'Your Archives'. You can add to existing pages, and even create new ones.
When you add your research to 'Your Archives', you can link information from different places. This may be a record in The National Archives, or an article or book held elsewhere.
Staff from The National Archives check new contributions, and often add further links to other documents or research.
So sharing your own research will help you and others.
