TUC's questions for parliamentary candidates, 1879

In 1871 the Trades Union Congress established a parliamentary committee to lobby for legislation. This document from 1879 shows a list of questions to be put to prospective parliamentary candidates. The TUC eventually supported the setting up of the Labour Representation Committee (forerunner of the Labour Party) to sponsor trade union issues in Parliament and elect their own MPs.
