Petition to Queen Victoria

Petition to Queen Victoria from the mayor, aldermen and burgesses of the Borough of Birmingham asking her to confer city status. Over the past 50 years the population of Birmingham had more than doubled, making it the second largest town in England and the largest borough that was not yet a city.
