This is, in fact, an 'inspeximus' and confirmation by Robert, Prior of St Swithun's Priory, Winchester, of an earlier manumission granted by William Wykeham, Bishop of Winchester, to Margaret, daughter of Walter Catewy and wife of Richard ate Water of Iver. Both males and females could be manumitted.
