You and your family will stand a better chance of avoiding colds, influenza and other common ailments - as well as more serious diseases such as tuberculosis - if you follow these simple rules. The rules offer the best guidance on how to improve your health and increase your vitality.

Sleep, eat and, if it is possible, work in airy rooms. Headaches, lack of appetite, and that tired feeling are often due to a stuffy atmosphere.

If you have an indoor job daily outdoor exercise is important

Why not go for a walk in the dinner hour?

And remember, when sitting, standing or walking, to hold yourself well.

See that the children - whatever their age - get enough sleep...

need about 11 hours sleep, which means bed by about 8 p.m.
UP TO THE AGE OF 16
And you, too! Don't forget to open the windows and draw back the curtains

Make sure that it's free from germs. Unless marked 'PASTERISED', bring milk to the boil and cool quickly before giving it to children - except, of course, in milk puddings and custards.
