In all humble manner Complayninge Yo[u]r
Orator Richard Ducke of Ide in the Countye
of Devon gent[leman] Sheweth Unto Yo[u]r
good Lordshipp That in or about the Moneth
of August in the Yeare of o[u]r Lord god
One Thousand Sixe hundred Fiftye Nyne, haveing
then A p[ar]ticuler Estate in A Messuage & Tenem[en]t
in Heavytree in the s[ai]d County of
Devon And one Phillipp Ducke of Heavytree
afores[ai]d gent[leman] being desirous to
deale w[i]th Yo[u]r Orator for his Estate
therein & to have him to p[ro]cure A
newe Estate in the same
from the Landlord thereof to be graunted
unto the s[ai]d Phillipp Ducke his Executor & Assignes
for Nynety Nyne Years determinable on the
Deathes of Three such p[er]sons as he
should Nominate & treatinge w[i]th
Yo[u]r Orator thereabout & p[re]feringe
him an Under Valewe for the same to witt
the sum[m]e of Twenty Pounds Current English
money at least
lesse then the s[ai]d p[re]misses were
truly worth & he thereupon being about
to breake offe his former treaty with the
fores[ai]d Phillipp Ducke, which one Richard
Ducke of
Heavytree afores[ai]d gent[leman] sonne & heire
apparent of the fores[ai]d Phillipp Ducke & who
was p[re]sent at the s[ai]d Treaty observing;
