The Government has accepted the following archives in lieu of tax and they now await allocation to suitable repositories.
The Wharncliffe archive
Harpur Crewe papers
Papers of Professor JP Hodin
Papers of Reginald and Pamela McKenna
The Battle Abbey archive
Any library, record office or analogous institution in the United Kingdom interested in being allocated the papers should contact:

for further particulars in the first instance. Applications for allocation of any of these collections must be received in writing at the same address by 11 November 2005.
