The State of Religious Archives in the UK Today
British Library Conference Centre, Euston Road, London
In association with The National Archives, the Religious Archives Group is looking at The State of Religious Archives in the UK Today at its 2007 conference on Monday 26 March. Morning papers, given at the event by experts in their fields, will provide overviews of Anglican, Catholic and Nonconformist archives. Case studies will then be presented on the Hindu Archive Project at Oxford University, the Manchester Cathedral Archives Project, the Christian Brethren Archive and the Westminster Diocesan Archive Project.
The speakers and participants in the conference will have an opportunity to identify trends and voice concerns, and to look at ways in which challenges can be tackled.
Natalie Ceeney, Chief Executive of The National Archives, will attend and chair the final discussion of the day which will round-up the debates, and look at the possible outcomes following the conference.
Following the event, The National Archives and the Religious Archives Group will meet to action the findings which are expected to have considerable strategic significance.
