Following a rationalisation of duplicated surrogate copies in the reading rooms at Kew, The National Archives is offering the following batch of redundant microfilms, free, on a first-come, first-served basis:

CAB 23 War Cabinet and Cabinet: Minutes, 1916-1939
CAB 65 War Cabinet and Cabinet: Minutes, 1939-1945

This comprises approximately 189 reels of used 35mm diazo negative image microfilm on 30 metre reels (not all reels will be full).

Only requests for the whole batch will be accepted. The National Archives is not seeking payment for these films.

The films are currently held at The National Archives site at Kew, and the successful requester must remove the films from Kew, at their own cost, by 16 March.

The films are offered on an ´as seen´ basis, and no warranty or guarantee is offered as to their quality or completeness.

Any copyright restrictions on the films or their content will remain after disposal.
