We offer advice and services to support the archival community in acquiring material and promote awareness of new accessions by major collecting archives.
In this section we provide advice on the content and purpose of collecting polices, information on deposit agreements for privately owned material and an introduction to surveying historical records.
We monitor sales of records through auction houses and private salerooms to alert collecting bodies of records on the market that complement their collections, and we run Accessions to Repositories, an annual exercise to record accessions of archive material by major repositories in the United Kingdom and Ireland.
