Accessions to repositories
Our annual Accessions to Repositories survey collects information from over two hundred actively collecting record repositories throughout the British Isles about their archive accessions over the previous 12 months.
- The material received from the Accessions survey is posted on the accessions section of The National Archives' website and added to the indexes of the National Register of Archives
- The data is also used to compile thematic digests which are distributed to specialist repositories and published in a number of learned journals and newsletters
- The accessions received by each individual repository can be viewed on the ARCHON directory. When manorial records are included in an accessions return, the information is added to the Manorial Documents Register
The information provides a vital knowledge base for the work of Archives Sector Development and is eagerly awaited by many archive users.
