Access and outreach
Providing greater access to archives and reaching new audiences is an important and growing activity for archivists and custodians of collections.
Archives for the 21st Century identifies developing access to archives as one of the key policy priorities for the archives sector: through online engagement and outreach and in providing a high quality on-site service.
In this section we cover the issues and legislation you need to consider when developing access and outreach policies. We provide case studies, guidance and links to websites that provide the most up-to-date information.
We also promote the accepted standards in the profession, such as the Public Services Quality Group Access Standard.
