Hire services

Up to 10 prints or transparencies: £20.00 (+£3.50 VAT)
(for example: hire of 13 transparencies would be £47.00 including VAT)
Usual hire period three months, extendable without charge.

Research fees

A fee of £15.00 for each 15 minutes' work will be charged for work undertaken to locate and mark documents for photography.

Reproduction fees

Material from The National Archives which is published, broadcast or displayed is, in most cases, subject to a reproduction fee. This is based on a sliding scale of charges dependent on the following criteria:

Books

Print run; rights required; size of image as a proportion of the page
(for example: Quarter page size, print run of 6,000, UK rights only = £65.00)

Websites

Size of image; time onscreen
(for example: Quarter screen for three months = £110.00)

Exhibitions

Size of image; duration of exhibition
(for example: 10"x8" for six months = £125.00)

Broadcast

Territory rights required, number of transmissions
(for example: USA only first flash = £75.00, repeat £38.00)
