Here are some links to useful websites about Freedom of Information (FOI).
- The Freedom of Information Act 2000
- The Information Commissioner, an independent supervisory authority reporting directly to the UK Parliament, is responsible for enforcing the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and the Data Protection Act 1998. The Commissioner's website includes guidance on publication schemes and other relevant information
- The Ministry of Justice is responsible for policy in this area. Guidance for central government publication schemes and information and other aspects of implementation is on its special FOI website
- Further information and opinions about the Freedom of Information Act can be found on the Campaign for Freedom of Information's website
- Scottish authorities come under a separate Scottish Freedom of Information Act 2002, which came into effect in January 2005.
