Duty on 154 indentures paid into the Board of Stamps by Alexander Menzies, collector in Scotland on 3 November 1781. The first entry shows the indentures were registered and duty paid on 8 May 1781 (this recording and payment can be up to one year after the apprenticeship is completed). The master is George Hardie of Edinburgh, Baker and the apprentice Thomas Fleming. This apprenticeship was for five years from 25 April 1781. The value of the apprenticeship was thirty pounds (usually a notional amount) and the duty paid fifteen shillings.
