New South Wales Original Correspondence from 1783 to 1900 is in series CO 201, which includes lists of settlers between 1801 and 1821. Names of settlers can also be found in CO 202 New South Wales Entry Books covering 1786 to 1873. Other records include the New South Wales Registers of Correspondence in CO 360 and the Registers of Out-Letters in CO 368. Early census records for New South Wales and Tasmania can be found in HO 10. The census of 1828 has been published, M R Sainty and K A Johnson, eds, New South Wales: Census … November 1828 (Sydney, 1980). Records of the Land and Emigration Commission should also be consulted.
