Looking for clues at home - the family's personal archive

This stage of the process not only provides you with further written evidence - from photos, diaries, letters, official documents, family bibles, heirlooms and other sources - but allows you to build up a sense of what your relatives looked like, and the sort of people they were.

The smallest snippet of information can be an important clue; dates and places on letters can lead you to a geographical area from where your family originated, where there are still branches waiting to be discovered.
