The talk will focus on family history sources held at The National Archives and at the British Library, particularly records on the British overseas in India. The presentation will also highlight the online sources available on a variety of websites.
Abi Husainy is the Acting Diplomatic and Colonial Principal Records Specialist at The National Archives. An expert in South Asian records, she has undertaken extensive research in the archives of India and contributed to the new edition of the Oxford Companion to Local and Family History, as well as to a number of other publications including: Ancestors magazine, Who Do You Think You Are? magazine, and The Asia Times. She has also provided research and writing for the BBC family history website and the Movinghere.org website.
This is a free event. Tickets will be issued on a first-come, first-served basis on the day and cannot be booked in advance.
