'Dare to be free': a women's history zine making workshop
29 March 2014
This Women's History Month The National Archives invites you to get creative with our collections. The records we hold provide rich sources of women's history. They are vast and varied, from the official voice of government to the personal voices that shine through.
The event will take place in the form of a zine making workshop, with an original document display for inspiration. The display will take an intersectional approach with items exploring themes ranging from women's 'deviant' sexuality to the 20th century practice of marriage bars. The ultimate outcome will be a collective zine exploring women's experiences in the past.
This workshop is suitable for people with some experience of zine making or a willingness to be creative. Please join us to reframe 'herstory' using zines.
The event is free. Please register for the event, as the maximum number of participants is 15. There will be a waiting list in the event of any cancellations.
