Everyone hates taxes! Find out what Dr Johnson thought of them at this illustrated talk, and discover how to hunt down the revenue collectors among the records at The National Archives.

Janet Dempsey is a record specialist with the Maritime and Transport team. She has worked at The National Archives for five years and, as well as Customs and Excise records, is currently working with the records for the Royal Marines, the Coastguard and the Merchant Navy.

This is a free event. Tickets will be issued on a first-come, first-served basis on the day and cannot be booked in advance.
