Inventory of James Hudson, publican of the White Horse Inn, London, 25 October 1734
In Southwark the prosperous brewer John Hudson had a drinking room or bar that was comfortable, even fashionable, with prints on the walls, a stove, benches and red curtains. Upstairs his dining room had glass sconces, paintings, decanters and punch bowls. He owned 200 ounces of silverware, including a tea set and tankards, two wigs, silver shoe buckles, a pocket watch and a walking cane.
