These six indentures, in a late fourteenth century hand, refer to monies received from a tax of 4d levied on all laymen and women in the named towns, ie the poll tax of 1377. None of the indentures contain any dates, but they probably fall between 27 January 1377 when the tax was granted, and 6 April 1377, which was the collection date.
