Notes
This vase form was modelled by James Hadley. See Henry Sandon, Royal Worcester Porcelain from 1862 to the Present Day, (Clarkson N. Potter, Inc, New York, 1973, 1st American edn, 1975), page 25 which mentions 'The very popular hand vases - various forms of a hand holding a vase - have a female hand that is said to be modelled on the hand of his [James Hadley's] wife; the old factory workers used to refer to it as 'Mrs. 'Adley's' 'and'. The form is illustrated in colour plate IV. For notes on the factory shape number Class 6 number 35 and shape title 'Hand Vase' see page 170.
