Annotation (BT 43/68)
The pattern includes an example of a G L. Ashworth & Brothers mark (A. BROS.) including [Pattern name] St. PETERSBURGH [Sic]
Notes
This design is a striking example of topographical designs in the Gallery. The central image of St. Isaac's Cathedral is bordered by other views of St Petersburg including the Admiralty and the statue of Peter the Great. The finished ware was probably intended for export as the use of Cyrillic scripts suggests the plate was designed for the Russian market.
