DOMINICA.
By his excellancy Sir JOHN ORDE, Ba-
ronet, Commander in Chief of the Island of
Dominica, &c. &c. &c.
Proclamation.
Whereas several Gangs of Slaves, with-
in this Island, are in a State of Insurrection, and
may receive great Succour or Assistance from an
improper Communication of Foreign Vessels with
the Out-bays of this Island. I have, therefore,
thought fit, by this my Proclamation, to call upon
and require all Magistrates, and Other his Maje-
sty’s faithful Subjects, within my Government, to
detain all Foreign Vessels that may be discovered
landing or taking any Thing from any of the Out-
bays; and to deliver up such vessels to any Com-
mander of his Majesty’s Ships of War, or to any
Officer of his Majesty’s Customs.
Given under my Hand and Seal at Arms, in the
Town of Roseau, this Twentieth Day of
January, One Thousand Seven Hundred
and Ninety-One; and in the Thirty-
first Year of his Majesty’s Reign.
