Gheluvelt 28 NE3 - Ypres Salient

GHELUVELT (Ypres Salient) 28 NE3: Edition 5A.

A 1:10,000 scale map with trenches corrected to 1 April, 1917. Gheluvelt is central to it and the map shows only German lines and fortifications. The Menin Road runs diagonally across the sheet and famous names like Shrewsbury Forest; Dumbarton Lakes; Becelaem; Inverness Copse and Sterling Castle are prominent. The area on the western side of the sheet where the lines are given names beginning with either an “I” or a “J” is absolutely covered with diggings. Sanctuary Wood was in the “J” area for example.
