This book enables readers to find their way around London as it was one hundred years ago, the index showing every street, road, lane, wharf or public building. The area covered reaches Mill Hill to the north, Chislehurst and New Bromley to the south, Abbey Wood to the east and Southall to the west, as a result it covers most of today's surburban areas. Useful detail includes banks, theatres, insurance houses, statues and named terraces.

The atlas consists of 59 map sheets from Bacon's New Large-Scale Ordnance Atlas of London and Suburbs, published in 1888. Two complete maps are provided, 34 map sheets covering the central area at 9" scale and 25 covering the wider area at 42" scale. This volume will be invaluable for historians, geographers and genealogists of the Victorian era.
