A.M. 4. Up steam. Prepared tops, &c for action. 4.45 Weighed. Engines moving as req[uesi]te to pick up station with the Fleet. Arr[ived] HMS "Hecla." 6.30 Proceeded towards the Boghaz Channel, to assist HMS "Temeraire" off shore. Took ditto in tow. Engines moving as reqte 7. HMS "Alexandra" fired a shell at battery. 7.5 Fleet commenced action with Forts and batteries on shore. 7.50 HMS "Temeraire" floated off. Cast off ditto and proceeded to W[est]S[outh]W[estwar]d under steam. 8.15 Commenced action with Fort Marabout. Steaming as reqte to bring guns to bear; Fort replying. Distances off Fort varying from 1,200 to 2,000 y[ar]ds. Silenced 3 of the enemy's guns. 10 Commander-in-chief made signal, 'Well done "Condor"'. 10.30 HMS "Beacon", "Bittern", "Cygnet" and "Decoy" came to assist in action with Fort.
11.5 Proceeded to E[ast]N[orth]E[ast] to close on Flagship in compliance with signal. Ceased action with Fort. 11.30 Passed over the shoal to the west[war]d of El-Fara Beacon & entered roads. 11.40 Commenced action with the Fort Tabia-el-Mux. Noon Ceased firing. Closed on "Invincible" (flagship).

P.M. 1.45 Closed on Fort Tabia-el-Mux and opened fire on d[itt]o to protect landing party from Flagship, proceeding to spike and destroy the guns. 2.30 Ceased firing. Closed on Flagship. Captain repaired on board. 3.10 Ditto returned. 3.15 Up boat and proceeded out of H[arbou]r thro[ugh] the Boghaz Pass to N[orth]E[astwar]d under steam. 4.15 Stopped astern of HMS "Hecla". Came into contact with stern of ditto, thereby damaging port boats & cutters foremost davit. Emp[loye]d drawing ammunition from "Hecla". Engines moving as reqte. 6.15 Proceeded to NEd for Telegraph ship. 6.35 Stopped off ditto, and communicated. 7.30 Proceeded to S[outh]W[estwar]d for anchorage. 8.25 Stopped and anchored off the Fleet, with B.B. & veered to 2½ shackles on St[arboar]d cable, in 14 f[atho]ms water.
